Mid-Wales Housing Association was established in 1975 and has 1500 properties throughout Powys and Ceredigion as well as a few properties in Shropshire. Operating from its Newtown office, MWHA provides homes for rent at affordable cost. Its clients range from families, single people of all ages and the elderly, to people who need care and support either occasionally or full time. It is run by a Board of Management. Members of the Board are not paid for their services but give their time voluntarily. Our Members come from most parts of our area and from a variety of backgrounds, including building, finance, local government, voluntary organisations and, of course, housing. Up to a third of the places on the Board can be filled by Tenants. The Association invites its tenants to stand for election to the Board whenever a vacancy arises.
