Short description of the contract or purchase(s)
Newport City Homes (NCH) a Registered Social Landlord based in Newport, is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified contractor to provide grounds maintenance in relation to NCH's housing stock of up to circa 10,000
properties. NCH is seeking to establish an initial 4 year contract with an option to extend,
at NCH's sole discretion, for an additional period of up to 12 months. NCH will seek proposals (at tender stage) that deliver its social,economic and environmental sustainability objectives.

Bidders who request a tender will also be provided with a memorandum of information which provides additional outline information in relation to the services being procured.
The Contracting Authority is seeking to establish a 4 + 1 year contract.
All tender costs and liabilities incurred by bidders shall be the sole responsibility of bidders.
The Contracting Authority will not accept tender submissions after the stated closing date.
The Contracting Authority is committed to contribute to its (and the Welsh Government's) social, economic and environmental sustainability objectives and will seek solutions and include contract performance conditions that provide for collaborative working arrangements which serve to address and deliver these objectives; including (but not limited to) recruitment and training of the long term economically inactive.
The Contracting Authority reserves the right to award the contract in whole or in part, or annul the tendering process and not award any contract.

Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:
Combination of:
NCH operates an apprentice supply chain initiative called “fresh start construction” (FSC). FSC will source the apprentice and seek to place them with our construction/maintenance partners. NCH will seek support from all its construction/maintenance partners to embrace this scheme by creating apprentice opportunities within their contracts and contributing towards the cost and mentoring of the apprentice. The apprentice will be employed by our construction/maintenance host partner.
