Abstract

1.4) A trained and SIA licensed uniformed officer is required to carry out security, entry control and other duties outside the core working house i.e. when the Reception is closed. There are 3 separate requirements that Tenderers are asked to price:

1.4.a) The core requirement is for Building Attendant Services during the hours 17:00 to 23:30 Monday to Friday and 07:00 to 23:30 at weekends and bank holidays. These services include:

— Maintaining a secure environment,

— Offering assistance to students, staff and visitors as appropriate,

— Reporting any incidents and security violations,

— Locking down buildings as agreed and

— Assisting with any Fire Alerts and emergency evacuations.

1.4.b) The above assumes that the Department will make adjustments to existing shift patterns in order to open up the buildings, however an option would be for the successful company to provide additional services from 06:00 to 08:00 Monday to Friday. These optional additional services would include:

— Opening up buildings as agreed,

— Offering assistance to students, staff and visitors as appropriate,

— Reporting any incidents and security violations and

— Assisting with any Fire Alerts and emergency evacuations.

1.4.c) Tenderers are also asked to price an optional Out of Hours Service from 23:30 to 07:00 Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays. These optional additional services include:

— Providing out-of-hours security,

— Patrolling all buildings, thoroughfares and perimeters to an agreed specification,

— Responding to alarms and incidents,

— Monitoring all equipment in the control room and

— Assisting with any Fire Alerts and emergency evacuations.

Please note that the timing of the Out of Hours services fits into existing shift patterns within the Department and includes a period of overlap / handover. Once the Building Attendant Services are implemented with the chosen supplier, these shift patterns can be reviewed.
