Description of the goods or services required
The Care Council is working in partnership to develop a national learning and development plan to support the coming into force and full implementation of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014. Background information can be found on the Care Council's website and learning hub.
In partnership, the Care Council has already produced a number of awareness raising materials and a number of other materials are in development.
The Care Council, working with the sector, has identified four core modules:
- Introduction and general functions
- Assessing and meeting the needs of individuals
- Looked after children and accommodated children
- Safeguarding
Training for the four core modules will be required by a wide range of staff who are working to provide care and support across Wales; including, for example, social workers, occupational therapists, team managers, etc.
Working with the regions across Wales, the Care Council is inviting trainer to join an all-Wales national framework of trainers who can be commissioned by organisations across Wales (primarily in the first instance to Local Authorities) to deliver training on one or more of the four core modules in relation to the Act.
A full set of high quality materials and train the trainer course (scheduled to be held in the first two weeks in January 2016) will be provided to all successful applicants to the framework.
