Total quantity or scope of tender

An opportunity has arisen for a qualified museum professional with a minimum of three years’ experience working as a museum mentor to provide support to the Museum Development and Accreditation Support Officer (MDO) for a 24 month period to maintain formal accreditation mentoring arrangements while the Section Head is on secondment. This will support the MDO to provide mentoring support to two independent museums and to maintain the accredited status of the Culture Centre.

OUTPUTS

3.1 Support the MDO to work with Penmaenmawr Museum to ensure the successful submission of their Accreditation Return for 2025, including working closely with the museum committee in assessing, planning and preparing documentation as necessary in line with the requirements of Museum Accreditation (suggest 5 consultancy days)

3.2 Support the MDO to continue to maintain the accredited status of the Culture Centre, including delivering the priorities of the museum service forward plan and other key plans and policies - 1 day per month, including coaching and mentoring support from May 1st 2024 to April 1st 2026, at least 12 of these on site (23 days in total).

3.3 Rural Conwy – working closely with a conservator appointed by the service, to carry out the following (suggested around 40 consultancy days)

-Support Sir Henry Museum to advertise for and recruit new volunteers and active trustees and to prepare a new Forward Plan for the organization.

-Working with Sir Henry Jones museum and the wider community to develop a refreshed interpretation plan for the museum.

-Work with a conservator and project partners to identify, prioritise and carry out the conservation of rural collections in need of urgent cleaning/restoration

- Develop a coordinated marketing strategy for rural heritage

- Deliver a joined up programme of activities, working closely with Creu Conwy partner organisations including National Trust at Ty Mawr Wybrnant and Llanrwst Town Team members. Minimum of 15 events to be held with a total participation of at least 100 people.
