Abstract

Event Notice On Street Solutions for Electric Vehicle Charging The Regeneration Team at Blaenau Gwent Country Borough Council will be holding an event to explore On Street Solutions for Electric Vehicle Charging. We are inviting suppliers to attend this event to discuss and showcase their solutions to Elected Members and officers. This event will allow the opportunity for suppliers to demonstrate their solutions, understand our challenges and potential future plans. Within Blaenau Gwent we are faced with many challenges when it comes to on street charging infrastructure, in parts of our borough some of the pavements are very narrow and uneven, making it challenging to decide on the best solution. 28.94% of houses in Blaenau Gwent do not have access to off street parking which means if they were to transition to Ultra Low Emission Vehicle alternatives, they would currently have to rely on the public charging network. By holding this event, we are hoping to get a clear indication of what solutions will work effectively for the residents of Blaenau Gwent. The event will take place on Monday 29th January 2024, starting at 10am in the Blaenau Gwent General Offices, Steel Works Road, Ebbw Vale, NP23 8UW. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. The deadline for registering for this event is 12pm on Monday 22nd January 2024. Please email EVCharging@Blaenau-Gwent.gov.uk to register for this event and for any queries.
