The provision of a high quality lunchtime restaurant service, providing a range and style of catering services appropriate to the elderly residents, is seen to be fundamental to the success of this project. In any social setting, meals represent far more than simply an exercise in nutritional intake. They represent also an opportunity for informal social contact, for shared enjoyment and for purposeful interaction. These opportunities are particularly valuable in a setting such as this, where some residents might otherwise potentially feel lonely and isolated.
Similarly, the maintenance of the high standards of cleaning and housekeeping at Bala within all public areas and any apartments used by the intermediate care team are seen to be vital to the establishment of a clean and safe living environment.
Grwp Cynefin’s objective is to provide a high quality, cost-effective service that meets the complete satisfaction of residents using the service. Within their weekly service charge, all residents will be entitled to receive a hot and nutritious lunch every day of the year.
Grwp Cynefin recognises that potential service providers may have resources that would enable alternative methods of service delivery, and encourages them to put forward, with their submissions, alternative proposals that would be either financially or operationally beneficial to Grwp Cynefin. These proposals should be fully documented and costed, to enable Grwp Cynefin to evaluate them accurately.
