We are inviting training providers based in Wales to join our Approved Suppliers List for a pan-Wales project entitled, ‘Minorities Are Wales Resource II’ funded by the European Social Fund through Welsh European Funding Office, operating until the 30th June 2014 with opportunities for extension. Swansea YMCA is the lead organisation in a delivery partnership consisting of the following equality based organisations operating regionally. • Swansea YMCA serving Carmarthenshire, Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot • Minority Ethnic Women’s Network. (MEWN) serving Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot • Valleys Regional Equality Council (VALREC), serving Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Torfaen • North Wales Regional Equality Network (NWREN) serving Isle of Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire CREATING OUR APPROVED SUPPLIERS LIST We are creating our Approved Supplier List due to the volume of training and specialist providers in the market and the need to ensure to fairness, access and equity. Our project receives a large volume of calls from providers offering their services which can often be distracting. As a project, we wish to ensure that our ‘Access to training’ process is conducted with only providers that comply with legislation in the same way, have high standards and are aligned with our project, target group, outcomes and values. Prices, quotations and payment methods will be negotiated separately to this process on a case by case basis with those providers who are successful. ABOUT THE PROJECT This project targets employed people of Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) and European Economic Migrant (EEM) backgrounds to improve their employment status. This project acknowledges that there are a variety of mainstream initiatives funded through the European Social Fund that have similar outcomes, however, this project is specifically targeted towards the above groups. This project targets BAME and EEM individuals who are often in low skilled, low pay and insecure employment. This may be due to an inability to progress within current employment, inability to navigate to areas/sectors of employment which offer increased opportunities for progression or English language and literacy acquisition. We have encounter participants with high levels of education and/or motivation unable to unlock their potential. This project overcomes the barriers that this specific target group face in progressing in employment by engaging with them through outreach, mentoring, support, group activities, access to training and involvement of employers. SELECTION AND OPERATING PROCESS Application:- Training providers are invited to complete the application form; Only those providers who have responded clearly and are able to comply with our essential criteria will be accepted. Operating the List:-

Those successful training providers will be transferred to an Approved Training Provider List, divided into regional delivery lots and distributed to project practitioners.

This Approved Training Provider List will be utilised as a ‘first port of call’ reference when identifying providers and procuring any training for our participants.

Being successful and featuring on our Approved Training Provider List does not constitute an agreement for sustained, regular work to any degree.

Prices, quotations and payment methods will be negotiated separately to this process on a case by case basis.

As part of the essential criteria it is accepted that all providers on the Approved Training Provider List will registered on the Sell2Wales website www.sell2wales.gov.uk so that Swansea YMCA is able to utilise electronic functions such as ‘quick quote’ with our approved list of providers.

Training providers unable to demonstrate, or fail to adhere or uphold standards/claims made in their application will be removed from the list.

Training providers which exhibit behaviour which could be viewed by Swansea YMCA as bringing the project into disrepute or has the potential to damage the projects’ reputation will be removed from the list.

The Approved Training Provider List will be terminated on completion of the project which is currently the 30th June 2014 with the possibility of extension.

Please be advised that due to several queries about various types of "specialty training/qualifications" we have amended the training form to include an "OTHER" field. This can be found on page 9, at the bottom of the NQF Course Title area. Any questions please do not hesitate to ask. For those whom have already submitted their applications with notations of such training in the covering emails, you do not need to re-submit. Thank you.

Please accept that although this European Funded Project specifically targets employed Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic people, it is open and has been available to all regardless of ethnicity.
