Feasibility Study for Oriel Davies, Newtown
Oriel Davies is a leading gallery of Wales and the most important visual arts venue in Powys. Between 2001 and 2004 our gallery premises went through a highly successful 2-Phase refurbishment programme.
We wish to appoint an Arts Business Consultant to lead on a Feasibility Study for a 3rd Phase, to further develop gallery’s facilities for a strong and sustainable future.
Oriel Davies is an independent contemporary art gallery, showing and touring the best visual art and craft from Wales and beyond. We are admired for our beautiful exhibition spaces, innovative artistic & learning programmes and excellent café and shop. Oriel Davies is based in the centre of Newtown, Powys’s largest town, and attracts c.75,000 visits annually.
Expressions of interest and tenders are invited from Arts Business Consultants by 30 September 2015.
The fee for the Arts Business Consultant is £10,000 + VAT
The role of the Arts Business Consultant:-
The Arts Business Consultant will work with the gallery to:
- Select and appoint a Design Team to develop the project up to RIBA Work Stage 2. This should include fine-tuning of the Draft Design Brief.
- Advise the Gallery on updating its Business Plan and staffing structure
- Undertake consultation with the main stakeholders
- Advise on a consultant to undertake public consultation
- Advise on appointment of other specialist consultants: retail, catering, renewable energy
- Advise on an effective fundraising strategy to help realise the full capital project
Closing date for tenders is 30 September 2015
Candidates will be informed by 7 October if they have been shortlisted for interview.
