Abstract

Cyngor Gwynedd has been successful in securing a budget of over £1.6m for the Diwyllesiant Project from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The project aims to promote culture and heritage, physical well-being and healthy living, and develop a sustainable visitor economy. The Diwyllesiant program is delivered as a cross-service project within the Authority, which aims to operate across three priority areas - Culture and Heritage, Healthy and Active Living, and the Sustainable Visitor Economy – for the benefit of, and to support the well-being of Gwynedd residents, communities, businesses, and environment. One of the outputs of the project is to implement a digital marketing campaign to promote the visitor economy and generate 5,000 additional visitors and £250,000 worth of income to the local economy and communities. Cyngor Gwynedd is looking to appoint a suitably qualified company to develop and implement a digital marketing campaign to promote the Eryri Snowdonia Mountains and Coast Tourism Marketing Area which includes the Eryri National Park, Llŷn Peninsula and Cambrian Coastline. The working title of the digital marketing campaign will be known as ‘Lleol i Ni’ meaning ‘Local to Us’ with the main objectives of promoting the area’s cultural, heritage, language, landscape, local produce, communities and outdoor opportunities. The campaign will need to consider the principles outlined in the Gwynedd and Eryri Sustainable Visitor Economy Plan 2035 when developing the campaign assets and the various marketing and communication messages. This will support our strategic aims of creating a visitor economy for the benefit and wellbeing of the people, environment, language and culture of Gwynedd and Eryri.

A full reponse was not provided at the character limit count of 4,000 was reached.
The last two questions are answered below.
What has worked for you in the past and what hasn't worked? This is the first time we'll be undertaking a digital marketing campaign of this size and scope. A digial marketing campaign was undertaken to promote The Coastal Way and The North Wales Way in 2021/2022 (delayed in 2020 due to COVID-19). The tender was managed by the Authority on behalf of the local authorities of Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, The Isle of Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham. The targets and actual figures for both campaigns are noted below. The project report is not available to the public.

The Coastal Way
Website Visitors 40,000 (44,217)
Social Reach 7M (8,222,445)
Social Engagement 280,000 (961,984)
Social Likes 4000 (5392)

The North Wales Way
Website Visitors 40,000 (44,889)
Social Reach 7M (8,424,436)
Social Engagement 280,000 (1,390,230)
Social Likes 4000 (5964)

What is the monthly traffic to your site for the same period last year? Google Analytics session figures below.
May-85898,June-97111,July-109282,August-110442,September-67263,October-50629,November-28499

In question 2, you mention supplying family-led creative. Is this to give you a flavour of the approach or is this because you only want the successful bidder to target this segment? This is to give a flavour of the approach as the tender has noted a list of audience segments in point 3 under Target Audience.
