Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

Construction and bringing into use of a new railway station located at the intersection of the Worcester to Oxford and the Birmingham to Gloucester railway lines on the B4084 in the vicinity of Norton, 3.5 miles south-east of Worcester and 1.3 miles south-east of Junction 7 of the M5, (OS Grid Ref; 892 509). The contract is for the construction of the railway station to include platforms, (3), station building, passenger footbridge and lifts. The station car park and associated internal and external highway works will be constructed by others.

The contractor will be expected to participate as a member of the project team and to positively contribute by Early Contractor Involvement in order to produce demonstrable value for Worcestershire County Council.

The overall programme for the works is commencement in late September 2015 with completion in May 2017.
