Short description of the contract or purchase(s)
Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales ("AC-NMW") has been awarded a Heritage grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund ("HLF") and received additional funding from the Welsh Government and other sources for the re-development of the St Fagans: National History Museum (the "Museum") (the "Project").
The Project comprises the construction of a new building, 'Gweithdy', the refurbishment and extension to the Museum's existing Grade II Listed main entrance building and Courtyard. The construction works are currently in progress.
This pre-qualification questionnaire concerns the proposed appointment by AC-NMW of one contractor to undertaken the exhibition fit-out elements of the Project comprising the following work packages as detailed below:-
- Showcases
- Graphic Production
- Manual Interactives
- AV/ IT Hardware
- AV/ IT Software
- Furniture
- Model Making
- Light fittings
- Electrical Works associated with the Exhibition Fit-out
- General Fit-out associated with the Exhibition Fit-out
The budget is in the range of 2.00GBP - 2.15 GBP million maximum
It is intended that the exhibition fit-out works will be undertaken following the completion of the construction works and that the exhibition fit-out contractor will act as the Principal Contractor as defined by the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
During the exhibition fit-out works the employer and/or other contractors will be installing a number of the objects to be re-displayed.
The site will remain open to the general public and Museum staff.
The delivery within the budget referred to above is a critical requirement and the organisation who is successful in being awarded the contract will be required to buy into the successful delivery, on time and within NMW's total budget.

Additional Information
Neither AC-NMW nor any of its agents or advisors will be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by tenderers in participating in the tender process and responding to the PQQ. AC-NMW will not be bound to accept any tender. AC-NMW reserves the right at any time without notice and without liability to any bidder to (1) withdraw from and/or abandon and/or defer the tender process: (2) not to award any contract as a result of this tender process.
The Contractor shall ensure that all contracts with Subcontractors and Suppliers which the Contractor intend to procure following the Award Date, and which the Contractor has not, before the date of the Contract, already planned to award to a particular Subcontractor or Supplier, are advertised through the Sell2Wales portal (www.sell2wales.co.uk) and awarded following a fair, open and transparent process proportionate to the nature and value of the contract.
