Abstract

The Welsh Government, on behalf of the Welsh Ministers, hereafter referred to as the Client, aims to contract for the provision of a service that will: -Encourage and support digitally excluded individuals to take advantage of the benefits of digital technologies. -Facilitate the co-ordination of digital inclusion activity across the third, public and private sectors in Wales to maximise the impact of available support. -Embed digital inclusion within lead/umbrella organisations, enabling a cascading approach of training and support across organisations and community groups as a way of reaching digitally excluded individuals. The service will build on progress already made in the previous two programmes (Communities@one and Communities 2.0) and the vast range of digital inclusion related activities that are currently taking place across the third, public and private sectors. The new programme will provide a strategic approach to addressing digital inclusion. In light of the more developed digital inclusion landscape, the Client is looking for the successful contractor to work as a smaller, more agile body of expertise that can co-ordinate activities and establish and develop strong partnerships across all sectors. The focus will be on supporting the digital inclusion of individuals by working through partner organisations and co-ordinating activities.
