Short description of nature and quantity or supplies or servicesThe proposed project’s main aim is to provide rapid access to early, work-focussed interventions for employees on or at risk of long-term sickness absence. Such interventions may have been recommended by employees assessed by the UK Government’s new Fit for Work service. If approved for European Social Funds, we will be seeking to procure a range of work-focused therapeutic interventions aimed at helping people to return to or remain in work.
The majority of referrals to the project are likely to be due to musculoskeletal or mental health problems, and provision may include:
physiotherapy
evidence-based psychological and occupational therapies including CBT approaches and counselling
chiropody and osteopathy
condition management
'Mindfulness’ and group-based approaches
support for drug and alcohol / substance misuse problems.

Additional information
Should funding be approved, we will be advertising a contract opportunity and will be seeking to create a framework of professional providers through a tender exercise on Sell2Wales.
We are currently looking to raise awareness within potential supplier networks of the opportunity*
A meet the buyer event is planned for 9:30am -12:30pm on 9th September 2015 at Conwy Business Centre, where we will be able to give more details. There will be support available from Business Wales also to assist with tender applications.
*Please note we are awaiting a decision on ESF programme funding. Any work carried out towards this should be undertaken at the providers own risk and no recompense can be sought from RCS
